Make Sure You Are Eating Breakfast In Order To Lose Weight

You may have already heard the advice about how you should breakfast like a King, lunch like a prince and dine like a pauper.  However do you actually pay attention to this advice?

Research conducted by the American Dietetic Association says that eating a good nourishing breakfast can actually help those who want to lose weight.

The trouble is that there are many people who still actually believe they should eat as little as they can.  And this means skipping breakfast.  Alternatively they tell themselves they don’t have the time to eat anything and will grab something at work.

But if you want to lose weight you’re really not helping yourself.

It’s even been found that children who don’t eat a breakfast every morning are twice as likely to end up overweight as they get older.  Whereas kids who do eat breakfast are much slimmer.

If you’ve felt guilty about having breakfast then really, you really need to give up that guilt.  Instead, let’s have a look at the benefits of breakfasting.

1.  Lowers bad cholesterol - the University of Nottingham has found that your bad cholesterol increases if you skip breakfast.  This is because by skipping breakfast your blood sugar levels drop and you end up snacking on unhealthy foods like chocolate.  By eating quality foods at breakfast such as wholegrain cereal you’ll feel more full up and you won’t reach for the fatty snacks.

2.  Boost your energy levels - because a big breakfast means your blood sugar levels will be more even.  Remember, when you’re sleeping at night you’re not eating any food.  In effect, you’ve been fasting.  So breakfast breaks that fast - hence it being called breakfast. So if you haven’t eaten anything for 12 hours you’re energy levels will be really low.

3.  Better mental function - when your blood sugar levels are at a normal level, your mental functions are much better.  So you’ll be able to perform much better whilst at work.

As you can see there’s a good number of reasons for eating a breakfast.  Try and make weight loss as easy as you can and eating breakfast is just one way you can do this.  Did you know that a study carried out by the National Weight Control Registry discovered that the majority of people who were able to lose 30 pounds or more eat breakfasts.

Now before you reach for the greasy fry-ups, please note that you should be careful about what you eat.  What should you eat then?  Well, live yoghurt, low fat cottage cheese and fruit and muesli are all good.

Starving yourself is never a good idea in weight loss.  Sure you can buy Carallum Burn appetite suppressants but these are really for people who are struggling to keep their appetite in control.
