What Causes Blurry Vision

If you have ever suffered from blurred vision you will already understand that this is not at all a pleasant experience. Not only can it prevent you from doing the different tasks you would like to do, blurry vision can also be a sign that you have another illness that needs to be addressed. Typically, blurred vision is caused by the weakening of the muscles that control your eye's lenses. Lenses can also loose their elasticity resulting in blurry vision. Although this will happen with age, it's believed that this natural degeneration can be slowed down simply by taking antioxidants.

Another major cause of blurry vision is cataracts. Cataract sufferers often notice that their eyesight is not as good as it was in darker lighting conditions and this is especially true when driving at night. People with cataracts often find it difficult to see when cars are coming towards them with their headlights on as they then become dazzled by the lights. Cataract lasik surgery is sometimes an option.  Macular degeneration can also happen when the lights is lost for the neurons that are at the back of the eyes. The major problem with this sort of eye condition is the fact that wearing glasses won't help because it's actually the neurons that are damaged. However there have been many reports of patients whose symptoms have improved when taking foods high in nutrients like selenium, magnesium and zinc. Spinach is a very good food to take.

Myopia is another condition which is basically short-sightedness. This condition occurs when the cornea of the eye becomes too curved and doesn't focus the light correctly onto the lens of your eye. You will probably have Myopia if objects in the distance are out of focus and blurred. This is a condition that affects many people and it's estimated that 25% of American adults have to deal with it.

Hyperopia, also known as farsightedness is another eye condition which isn't serious and affects many people. It's effectively the opposite of Myopia in that the distant objects are in focus whilst near objects are blurred.

Dry eyes is just another eye condition which may be the root of your blurred visions and happens when you aren't producing enough tears from your eyes. Or it might happen when the tears you do produce aren't of good enough quality produced from your tear ducts. This can be uncomfortable to deal with and you will experience burning, itching and perhaps some reduction in vision. Luckily there are eye drops you can easily buy which you place into your eyes to replace your own natural tears. Another thing that may help is simply to buy a humidifier for your home however surgery is also a possibility. Of course, you should always talk this over with a doctor.

It's amazing how people will often ignore blurred vision, not wanting to acknowledge that there is a problem. This really isn't a good idea because quite often the blurriness can be fixed with some simple treatments and also because the blurred vision might be because of other illnesses which should be looked at. There are so many different eye correction treatments that you should discuss with an expert, these treatments can include glasses, lenses, drops and laser eye surgery. Or, of course, the underlying condition could be treated which will in turn improve your vision. Always consult your doctor if you have blurred vision.

try using pinhole glasses. antioxidants are good and I do drink them, but that is only half of the equation. Lookup pinhole glasses.

I only have blurred vision late in the day - maybe an hour or so before I go to bed. I don't take any meds before it starts, and my vision is normal when I wake up in the morning.
